Abbie’s Fund

You’ve probably found our website because you or someone you know has lost a baby, and for that we are truly sorry. This happens much more than people think. 15 babies are stillborn or die soon after birth in the UK every day through complications, miscarriage, SIDs or illness and it is a devastating, life changing event. This happened to us, and the care and support we received from the midwifery staff that looked after us inspired us to give something back to help others who find themselves in this terrible position.

We have set up Abbie’s Fund in memory of our daughter Abbie, to raise money to provide memory boxes for the Maternity Unit at Hull Royal Infirmary’s Women and Children’s Hospital, to give to parents who have also lost babies. Through the process of putting together our memory box for Abbie in the days and weeks following her death we have been able to create memory boxes, complete with keepsakes, that can be given to parents at the start of this journey. We hope these boxes help to provide some comfort.

For us, providing this service helps us achieve something positive and allows Abbie’s memory to live on.
